Festival of Holidays

Hello and welcome back! I've been slacking on the blog and for that I apologize but I'm back with lots of fun stuff to share! The holiday season is in full effect at the Disneyland Resort. This amazing transformation began November 10th and will continue until January 7th! This gives you plenty of time to plan a trip and experience all Christmas magic the happiest place on earth has to offer this year. For this post I will be filling you in on a special event that happens once a year in California Adventure, Festival of Holidays.
Festival of Holidays is a huge celebration of foods and drinks that are prepared during the holiday season around the world. Disney gives you a first hand experience with the rich flavors that many know and love. In the park there are 12 marketplaces that you can visit with their own individual themes. Each marketplace offers a few savory, sweet and beverage options.
There is also live musical entertainment right in front of Mickeys Fun Wheel where the world of color seating is. There are merchandise kiosks and fun coloring booths for kids.

The festival opens at 10:30 a.m. and is open until 10 p.m. This is a great way to experience Disney the "adult" way. California Adventure is the only park that serves alcoholic beverages and there are many options to pick from. There are wine flights, margaritas, mules that are easily paired with the delicious food choices. Below I have pictures of a few of the food choices we tried on our trip.
The portions may look vey small. But once you start adding them together, you'll be full in no time! To get a detailed description of the food and beverages offered you can visit

Here are my top three suggestions if you plan on attending the festival. Number One- Walk through the whole event and take a look at all the different options. Make a game plan and choose wisely! Number two- If you are an Annual Passport Holder stop by the special AP area and take a look! They have a lanyard available for purchase that costs $45. (Pictured Above) This lanyard will give you eight tabs that can be used for any food items but not alcohol. This is totally worth it if your planning on purchasing the more expensive food items. Number Three- Grab what sounds likes your favorites first. There is a strong possibility that they may run out of the topping or add ins that make the food selection special.
All in all we had a great time! I personally enjoyed how Disney chose to create an inclusive event to showcase different holiday traditions around the world. It's a nice little warm up for the popular Food and Wine Festival coming in March! Thanks for reading! Next up on the blog is my Run Disney experience! See ya real soon!
